UCI Irvine Law & Orange County Bar Association: Rule of Law & Judicial Independence: March 19, 5:00pm-7:30pm, EDU 1131: Judges Dolly M. Gee (U.S. District Court for the Central District of California), Joanne Motoike (4th District Court of Appeal, Div. 3), and Sheila F. Hanson (Orange County Superior Court), will discuss adherence to the rule of law and judicial independence. Register online at ocbar.org. Registration for students is free.
The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association & Foundation: The 2026 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair: July 13-15, Chicago, IL: Candidates will talk directly to LGBTQ+ friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBTQ+ rights groups, and corporate legal departments. LGBTQ+ students seeking to attend the conference may apply for need-based student travel grants assisting with travel to and from the conference. Look into membership fees and register for the conference and career fair as a member or non-member.
OC Space Law Conference by the Space Law Society: March 20, 8:00am-4:30pm, Colab Space: Leading attorneys from in-house legal teams at local space companies and law firms will explore cutting-edge legal and regulatory issues shaping the future of the space industry across a variety of areas. The RSVP form will close when capacity is met or by March 16 at 4pm.
American Inns of Court: Bridging the Civility Gap: Reputation, Ethics, & Effective Advocacy: March 17, 6:30pm-8:15pm, Southwestern Law School: The program will open with an address by Justice Brian Currey (Ret.), Chair of the California Civility Task Force, followed by a question and answer session with a diverse panel of experienced litigators on the plaintiffs’ and defense sides of what are often highly adversarial practice areas such as civil rights, criminal, and employment law. RSVP as soon as possible to attend.

SCHOLARSHIPS & WRITING COMPETITIONS
USLAW NETWORK Foundation Law School Scholarship Program: Twelve recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward law school tuition and an invitation to attend the 2026 USLAW NETWORK Annual Client Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, in September. Watch a brief video to learn more about the scholarship program. Completed application and related materials are due to scholarship@uslaw.org by March 20.
Public Investors Advocate Bar Association: James E. Beckley Law Student Scholarship Contest: First place receives $1,500, second place receives $1,000, and third place receives $750. Apply by March 27 at 2:00pm.

Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
