Meet Anne Marie:
Hello! I’m a 1L at UC Irvine School of Law and excited to serve as an Admissions Ambassador. One of the things I value most about UC Irvine Law is its collaborative, welcoming culture, and I enjoy helping prospective students think through what they’re looking for in a law school—academically, professionally, and personally.
I graduated from Purdue University with degrees in Spanish and Global Studies and a certificate in Medical Humanities. After undergrad, I worked in a Medicare clinic, an experience that shaped how I think about healthcare challenges at a systems level. I then spent a year living and working in Madrid, Spain, before moving to California to pursue my Master of Public Health at UC Irvine, where I supported employee wellness programming and conducted mental health and wellbeing policy research. These experiences ultimately led me to law school.
At UC Irvine Law, I’ve been drawn to intellectual property law, particularly in the context of healthcare innovation, pharmaceutical development, and emerging technologies. An MPH course on stem cell ethics sparked my interest in how the law addresses liability and regulation in rapidly evolving scientific fields. I’m also interested in trademark, copyright, and licensing where creative and commercial interests intersect.
Outside of law school, I enjoy live music, cooking, traveling, bowling, and mystery audiobooks. As someone who took a nontraditional and interdisciplinary path to law school, I’m always happy to connect with prospective and admitted students, especially those navigating similar transitions or exploring how prior experiences fit into a legal career. Please feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect!
