Meet Abby:
I immigrated from Ireland as a child and grew up navigating new systems, cultures, and perspectives—experiences that shaped my resilience and sparked my passion for advocacy, education, and community. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help people, which led me to pursue the Criminal and Social Justice program at Boston College as the foundation for my path to law school.
My undergraduate experience was defined by growth, leadership, and service. I sought opportunities to give back to my community, develop as a leader, and challenge myself academically, all while preparing for a future in law. These experiences taught me the value of mentorship, collaboration, and staying grounded during demanding periods of growth—lessons I carry with me today.
As a 1L at UC Irvine Law and I am actively involved in several student organizations that focus on community-building, professional development, and peer support. I enjoy helping fellow students navigate the law school experience and believe strongly in creating an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone feels welcomed and empowered. I have also participated in pro bono and service-oriented initiatives that reinforce my commitment to using the law as a tool for positive impact.
Beyond academics, I have a strong love for writing and storytelling. I enjoy sharing reflections on law school, leadership, and professional growth through LinkedIn posts (I think I'm addicted), and I value the role thoughtful communication plays in building connection. I also remain deeply connected to the arts, which continue to shape my creativity, perspective, and approach to advocacy. As a Student Ambassador, I am excited to support prospective students, share my experiences, and help others envision themselves thriving at UC Irvine Law!
