Meet Hayden:
Hello, I'm Hayden Lamb, a 2L at UC Irvine School of Law. Before law school, I moved through chemistry research, FX trading, and professional kitchens, so when people ask why I chose law after all that, I tell them it's the first path where all those interests actually converge: the analytical rigor of science, the high-stakes preparation of trading, and the discipline of a kitchen brigade all appear in how I approach legal work now.

I am excited to be an Admissions Ambassador because I can speak to some of the anxieties that come with this process. I'm a first-generation lawyer who came to law school with a hard science background rather than a traditional pre-law path. I optimized a gap year before applying, navigated a hectic and competitive admissions cycle, moved to UCI from across the country, and ultimately got here off the waitlist. If any of that sounds helpful, I'd love to talk through it.

During my first year in Law School, I became a Staff Editor on Law Review, a 1L Representative for the Land Use and Real Estate Law Society, and a member of the Intellectual Property and Business Law Societies. I have also worked on a pro bono project with the American Constitution Society, monitoring the Federal Register on issues from immigration to administrative law, and this summer I interned for Justice Jonathan Biran on the Supreme Court of Maryland.

Outside of law school, I love going to the beach, exploring national parks, making ice cream, and watching Wes Anderson movies. I'm always happy to talk about UC Irvine, law school, or anything in between.
