Meet Jose:

Hi! I'm Jose Lopez, a first-generation college and law student. I grew up in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, and before starting law school, I dedicated two years to serving with City Year Los Angeles. I proudly decided to enroll at UC Irvine Law because of the unique opportunities and programs it offers.

At UC Irvine Law, I've been actively engaged in various pro bono projects that have significantly enriched my legal education beyond the traditional 1L curriculum. A memorable experience was spending a week in Montana on a pro bono project during spring break, which was both rewarding and eye-opening.

When I'm not immersed in my studies, I enjoy running, playing tennis, and exploring new local restaurants. I completed the LA marathon during my 1L year and am always eager to run around the city.

I know the law school application process can be overwhelming, but having recently navigated it myself, I'm excited to share my insights and provide support. If you ever have any questions or need guidance–I'm here to help and share my experiences with prospective students!
