Meet Sophia:
Hi, my name is Sophia Parizadeh, and I am a 3L at UC Irvine Law. I decided to become an Admissions Ambassador because, as a first-generation student, I understand how overwhelming the law school application process can be and I remember how valuable it was to hear directly from students and get a genuine sense of what life at a law school was actually like. I hope to provide that same perspective and help prospective students feel informed and confident in their decision.

I currently serve as President of the Middle Eastern and South Asian Law Student Association and Executive Editor of the UC Irvine Journal of International, Transnational, and Comparative Law. I am also involved with the Community Economic Development Clinic, Mock Trial, the Iranian American Bar Association, and serve as a student leader for the Saturday Academy of Law pro bono project.

During law school, I have gained legal experience in education law at a law firm, as well as in-house legal experience working on contracts, privacy, and compliance matters. Before law school, I served as a JusticeCorps Graduate Fellow at the San Diego Superior Court, helping self-represented litigants navigate civil legal matters.

Outside of law school, I enjoy reading, drinking coffee and matcha, trying new restaurants, watching reality TV, and spending time at the beach. I am also fluent in Farsi and conversational in Spanish.

What drew me to UC Irvine Law was its strong sense of community, and I look forward to helping prospective students experience that same sense of belonging.
