UCI School of Law takes immense pride in the collegial environment our community has developed. Our students play a large role, if not the biggest role, in fostering that culture. Admissions Ambassadors are current UCI Law students who dedicate time out of their busy schedules to serve as a resource to prospective students.
Below, you will find short biographies of current Admissions Ambassadors. If you are interested in learning more about a student’s journey to law school and their experience so far, please email ambassadors@law.uci.edu and your message will be routed to the specific Ambassador you request.
Please keep in mind that conversations with Ambassadors have no bearing on your admissions decision. Rather, your conversations with them are an opportunity for you to gain insight into our student body and community.

I chose to attend UCI Law because I had a wonderful experience during Admitted Students Weekend (ASW) and I learned that the community is the best aspect of UCI Law so far. I had a wonderful experience with the Admission Ambassadors from last year, which led me to ultimately choose UCI Law. Pro Bono: Clean Slate“UCI has been my home for the last 10 years—first as an undergraduate student, then as professional staff, and now as a concurrent J.D. and Ph.D. student in the School of Law and the Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy program. As a first-generation, Arab-American college student, I am a product of UCI's commitment to uplifting students from marginalized backgrounds. I chose UCI Law because I strongly believe in experiential education and UCI Law's Pro Bono, Lawyering Skills and Clinic programs give you unmatched opportunities. And let’s be real, law school is expensive, but UCI Law makes things a little easier through programs like guaranteed housing, a second-hand textbook market, and professional clothing drives. Lastly, the campus community is so supportive. From its collaborative and interdisciplinary environment to its career development office and student-run affinity groups, you'll feel at home in no time. Now that I'm enrolled, I can say with certainty that I made the right choice. My favorite aspect of UCI Law is their commitment to preparing its students for a career in law. From pro bono and clinic opportunities to a specialized curriculum, UCI Law prepares us for the practice (not just the study) of law. Lawyering Skills is my favorite class at UCI Law so far. I have really enjoyed developing the practical skills required to do well in this field - from research and writing to client interviews. I really appreciate the opportunity to learn by doing and feel like I've already made significant improvements in my writing ability. I was an ambassador for my undergraduate school and loved connecting with prospective students. Especially being out of state, I know first-hand how encounters with Ambassadors and school tours can really shape your opinion of a school.”

I remember doing a UCI Law tour as a prospective student and the representative emphasized the community. When I enrolled, I realized how accurate she was. It feels like a genuine community and is not at all competitive. So far, my favorite class at UCI Law has been Torts because the cases are always really interesting and I really love the Pro Bono Program. It was a huge draw that first-year students get the opportunity to experience hands-on training. I chose to be an Admissions Ambassador because of experiences I had at my undergraduate university. I loved working with prospective students, talking with them, answering questions, and sharing my love of my university with them.”

It's fascinating to learn about different career paths in the law, and to hear from practicing attorneys. I also enjoy the lively class discussion about ethics in legal practice! Another great aspect I love about UCI Law is the student housing. The neighborhood provides a nice community setting to live in while you study here, with families from all different backgrounds. There are playgrounds and community gardens and neighborhood events like taco nights and ice cream socials!”

The infusion of public interest in every class has made the process of becoming a lawyer a more rewarding experience. The best place to study at law school is the second floor of the library in front of a sunny window and my favorite way to fuel up for class is coffee with just a little bit of hazelnut creamer. The two classes I have enjoyed and learned the most from is Antitrust and Civil Procedure. Professor Leslie and Professor Talesh have been fantastic in teaching difficult material and were both very welcoming. I chose to be an Admissions Ambassador because I came into law school without a lot of knowledge about the experience and I'd like to help prospective students come in with a better understanding than I did.”
