Latinx Law Student Association (LLSA)
The Latinx Law Students Association (LLSA) at UCI Law is an all-inclusive organization that is open to any student, regardless of racial or ethnic identification. As law students at the only public law school in Orange County, an area in which the largest ethnic minority group is Latinx, we believe it is particularly important to address the many issues that affect Latinx people at both an institutional level and in the community.
We seek to empower Latinx law students by:
Building community among UCI Law Latinx;
Promoting academic and professional support, fostering community and coalition building, encouraging mentorship and networking relationships, and community service through Pro Bono;
Creating safe spaces for AfroLatinx, AAPI Latinx, First-generation Latinx, Formerly Incarcerated Latinx, Indigenous Latinx, Lawtinas, Undocumented and DACA, and LGBTQIA+ Latinx folks;
Recruiting Latinx people to UCI Law;
Encouraging the hiring of more Latinx people to the UCI Law faculty;
Exposing non-Latinx folks to issues affecting our community;
Combating prejudicial discrimination based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, socio-economic background, religious affiliation, disability, or immigration status.
