UCI Law Students Honored for Pro Bono Work by International Refugee Assistance Project
The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) honored second-year UCI Law students Hailey Phelan and Anna Setyaeva as an “Excellent Case Team,” detailed in this
video about their pro bono work for IRAP. Phelan and Setyaeva worked on a matter involving the Violence Against Woman’s Act in a U-Visa case. The students worked closely with Trinh Tran, Senior Staff Attorney for IRAP, gathering necessary records for a U-Visa application. Phelan and Setyaeva succeeded in winning the client’s release, reuniting her with her family in the United States.
