IRVINE, Calif. (March 15, 2023) — A panel of expert UCI Law students, including J.D. students Esther Kye, Alfred Hwang, Maki O’Bryan, and Brittany Emsais, and LL.M. students Jeong Hwa Kim and Yonghyung Thomas Chung, joined by Professor Ji Seon Song, led a presentation on March 15 titled “K-Drama & Crime Drama: A Comparative Perspective.” The panelists engaged in a discussion of the role of police and prosecutors in the U.S. and Korea, using K-Drama and U.S. Crime Drama as starting points.

Co-sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) at UCI Law and the UCI Law Korea Law Center, the discussion illuminated the different historical, institutional and cultural factors that have influenced the evolution of policing in the two countries.
