Application and Fees
The Visiting Law Scholar Program for the 2025-26 Academic Year is now open. Applications are processed on a rolling basis.
Who Should Apply?
The Visiting Scholar Program welcomes applications from scholars that are interested in the intersection of U.S. and Korean law. We invite research exploring a broad spectrum of legal topics at this intersection, including but not limited to constitutional law, administrative law, criminal law, corporate and commerical law, technology and privacy law, and law and development.
Visiting Law Scholars may be appointed for a period of up to 12 months. A longer visit may be authorized for Korea Law Center Visiting Law Scholars by the Center’s Faculty Director. Requests for an extension must be submitted at least three months prior to the original end date. In all cases, the total duration of a Visiting Law Scholar appointment may not exceed 24 months.
How to Apply
To apply to the Visiting Scholars Program at UC Irvine Law, please register through our online system to begin the application process. Applicants will be asked to indicate your proposed visit dates and submit the following materials:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Research Proposal
- Letter of Support
Program Fees
The program fee is $7,500 per semester.
